Covered Marketplace in Ennis Town

What is it?

Redevelopment of the Garraunakilla Market Area by Ennis Town Council to form semi-enclosed spaces, within a structure on the present car park area. The structure will continue to have multifunctional uses, housing at times a car park and at others a market. 

What does it mean for you?

As proven in neighboring Limerick and other markets, a Covered Market increases town vibrancy, consumer choice and is also a draw for tourism bringing with it jobs and opportunities.

Flood Relief Scheme 

What is it?

Planning and funding for following flood  schemes for town land including Gort Road , Aughanteroe , Watery road/Elm park , Ennis  town Phase 1 & 2 , St Flannans , Ballybeg, and Abbey Court. Cllr. Johnny Flynn has been involved as one of the key drivers in this work since 2004.

What does it mean for you?

By mid 2014 over €20 million worth of civil engineering schemes protecting homes and businesses from flooding in and around Ennis will have been completed. Cllr. Flynn is working to getting reduced insurance costs for properties now protected by these schemes .
